At dusk, a few starlings appeared in the sky. Soon they were joined by more starlings and a few small flocks formed. Then over the space of about fifteen minutes, a seemingly endless number of starlings flew over from all directions to join them, becoming as one while choosing their nighttime accommodation on the reed beds below. In no time the sky was completely full of starlings and the sky looked like it had been splattered by swirling ink splatters. Patterns formed akin to those the Northern Lights tend to make The sound of their chattering was as loud a waves crashing on stormy sea.

Otters, snakes, meerkats, lemurs etc

Taken on a beautiful, icy, blue sky winter's morning at the Otter and Butterfly sanctuary in Buckfastleigh, South Devon and on an overcast day at the Shaldon Wildlife Trust.
